Guilherme Rocha Murgel de Rezende is a founding partner of Rezende e Costa Advogados, established in June 2024 in partnership with Paula Costa.
Guilherme worked as an auditor at Arthur Andersen from 1983 to 1986 and subsequently joined Ulhôa Canto, Rezende e Guerra Advogados, where he practiced for more than 40 years, 27 of them as a senior partner.
Additionally, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of Gerdau Açominas, the Américo Viveiros Foundation, Instituto Compartilhar, and the General Council of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro chapter (OAB/RJ).
Guilherme has extensive expertise in general contract law and corporate law, with an emphasis on M&A and corporate governance, corporate group restructuring, tax, estate and succession planning, real estate, entertainment, and sports law. He also advises individuals on the acquisition and sale of assets both in Brazil and abroad.
Recognized by several publications, both national and international (such as Chambers Global and Chambers Brazil), he is regarded as a leading authority in Brazil in M&A and corporate law.
His native language is Portuguese, and he is fluent in English.
Paula Lima Nogueira Costa is a founding partner of Rezende e Costa Advogados, established in June 2024 in partnership with Guilherme Rezende.
For 28 years, she was part of Ulhôa Canto, Rezende e Guerra Advogados, where she built her career and served as a senior partner in the corporate practice during the last eight years. Her expertise focuses on corporate law and M&A, commercial contracts, infrastructure projects, international and domestic financings, project finance, and the oil & gas sector.
She holds a Law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUC-Rio (1998) and earned an LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University (NYU), USA (2003).
Recognized by international publications, she has been featured in Chambers Brazil as a leading lawyer in Corporate/Commercial and has consistently been ranked among the most admired women lawyers in Brazil by Análise Advocacia – Women Ranking in recent years.
She has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Section (OAB/RJ) since 1998, and is also a member of the CPGNB – Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels Committee and the CODE – Corporate Law Committee of OAB/RJ.
Her native language is Portuguese, and she is fluent in English.
Paulo Henrique Caban Stern Matta is a partner at Rezende e Costa Advogados since 2024.
He was an associate at Ulhôa Canto, Rezende e Guerra Advogados for 6 years, where he acquired extensive experience and knowledge, particularly in matters related to corporate law, M&A, and a wide range of contracts.
Paulo graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ in 2018 and completed his LL.M in Corporate Law and Capital Markets at Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV Direito Rio in 2022.
He has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Chapter (OAB/RJ) since 2019. His native language is Portuguese and he is fluent in English.
Marina Zanetti Bernardo Stocco is a partner of Rezende e Costa Advogados since 2025.
Marina has over a decade of experience handling complex judicial and arbitration disputes across a wide range of industries and legal matters, with a particular focus on corporate, contractual, succession, administrative, and enforcement issues.
She graduated from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie – UPM in 2011 and obtained a postgraduate degree in Civil Procedure and Arbitration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV in 2014.
She has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo Chapter (OAB/SP) since 2011. Her native language is Portuguese and she is fluent in English.
Fernanda Britto is a partner at Rezende e Costa Advogados since 2024.
She was an in-house lawyer of Vale S.A. from 2011 to 2014 and has been a lawyer in renowned law firms, such as Leoni Siqueira Advogados from 2014 to 2018 and Ulhôa Canto Advogados from 2018 to 2024.
She graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUC-Rio in 2010 and obtained a post-graduate degree in Corporate Law from IBMEC-RJ in 2013 and in Estate and Succession Planning from FGV-SP in 2021.
She has been a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro Chapter (OAB/RJ), since 2011.
